Yawanawá - Esperanza snuff is prepared with artisanal string mapacho and Tsunu ash. According to the Yawanawá, the Tsunu is a sacred tree that has the power to strengthen spiritual work, while also providing concentration and focus for the mind. In addition, it is known for its relaxing properties, dissipating tiredness and providing good mood. This snuff refers to Nova Esperança, the largest Yawanawá village. This village is led by the chief Nixiwaká (Biraci Brasil), one of the main responsible for the cultural restructuring of his ethnic group in the 1980s, when he led the movement to remove the American missionaries who occupied the Yawanawá indigenous territory. Since then, work has begun to strengthen the Yawanawá identity, bringing together elements of the history, tradition, customs and spirituality of its people, giving them back their self-esteem to build a new future together.
